Description:
BOLO is a web-based application being developed by FIU students in partnership with the Pinecrest Police Department. The purpose of the application is to transform and refine the current version of bolos or be-on-the-lookout documents currently being deployed by the Police Department to a more modern and proper digital form. The latest state of the application is characterized with new features, cleaner components, and a more intuitive interface. During the primary stages of planning, the product owner defined the primary objective for version (16.0) to have the application suitable for deployment and early stages of testing. To accomplish this goal, new features had to be developed, older components had to be revamped, and the user interface had to be updated. Version (16.0) has an updated user interface, a fully comprehensive user action audit log, updated notifications systems, functional comment sections, and improved user guides. In addition, this version refined its components to meet clean and acceptable practices and revised the security that it relied on. The previous iteration of the application provided a solid framework and documentation to allow for the new objective to be reached during the current version of the application. Ultimately, the final goal is to introduce a comprehensive build that is fully functional and satisfies both CJIS and Miami-Dade guidelines.
