Building Information Modelling (BIM) is an intelligent digital representation of physical and functional characteristics of a building or infrastructure. It can provide insights and tools for architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals to more efficiently plan, design, construct, and manage buildings and infrastructure. Despite being touted as the next best thing for saving money and improving operational efficiency, the adoption rate of BIM is not as high as expected, especially for small companies in the AEC industry. One of the major barriers that challenge the widespread adoption of this innovation is the learning curve and the cost of training and implementation. This project aims to litigate these difficulties by providing a BIM modeling system with more capabilities to make BIM objects easier to understand for general users outside of the construction industry and individuals within the industry that are struggling to adapt to modern BIM systems.
